Master John Douglas: An Unconventional Life

Biographical details for MJD are suspiciously scant considering he’s supposed to be a “world renowned healer, clairvoyant, theologian, prophetic minister, spiritual healer and extraordinary teacher.”

The official bio as told by CMA is more lore than recorded history:

John Douglas was born in Australia, in 1971, to a family with a history of several generations of spiritual healers. John is known throughout the world as a consummate Master Healer and gifted clairvoyant with extraordinary telepathic abilities.

At the age of nine, John received a complete clairvoyant activation, allowing full vision of the energetic or spiritual dimension. Higher faculties of remote scanning or sensing of the energetic realm or quantum level is also a feature of John’s holistic ability, allowing him to measure and identify various energetic frequencies within the body and surrounding spiritual realms.

John has received knowledge and teaching of the healing arts and energetic realities both physically and telepathically from his spiritual companions, the Master Angels.

At the age of 24, after many years of communion, devotion, and dedicated practice and learning with the Master Angels, John received the initiation of Spiritual Master.

Master John has been quietly evolving and refining his abilities with the divine guidance and love of his beloved Masters and is now at the leading edge of spiritual healing and development of consciousness. To date, tens of thousands of miracles and profound transformational results attributed to John have been documented by esteemed doctors, medical practitioners, researchers and other members of the international medical community.

There is very little else available besides that. A sure sign to raise suspicions. Is John Douglas even his real name? A 2007 archive of his pre-CMA Spirit Repair website has this simple homepage containing the statement he’s based in Paddington, Sydney:

Sidenote: no mention of Master Angels back in 2007.

If we remove from these two bios all the blatant fictitious parts, leaving only plausibilities, we’re left only with:

John Douglas was born in Australia in 1971. Operating from Paddington, Sydney travelling to America 3 times a year to perform seminars and one on one sessions with private clients.

There is another source of MJD information (details left for another post) where he says “In my early-mid twenties in Australia … I was working as a state resident for a large transportation company at a very young age … drinking 9 black coffees a day and working 12-15 hours a day trying to make my name. I had a health problem arise…”

So where is “At the age of 24 after many years of communion, devotion, and dedicated practice and learning with the Master Angels” supposed to fit with this? Was it before or after the black coffee addiction?

Anyone know what a “state resident” is?

No Photos, Please

Many CMA followers have been interviewed for their podcasts, social media, books, and on-camera interviews. Not so for MJD. This gives him a transcendent status in the eyes of members and potential members. He doesn’t move in the same earthly circles as his followers. This assures that getting to see and meet him in person will be a much anticipated honor.

Not only are MJD biographical details as rare as a black member of CMA, photographs of the man are also thin on the ground.

He seems not to have existed before 2006, again a sign something is being kept from the public about him. “Secret knowledge” indeed.

I’ve noticed in 2020 especially, CMA social media accounts have completely stopped sharing any photographs of him at all. Considering he is apparently globally revered with thousands of followers this is more significant than simply not wanting to be on social media.

Hartnett has offered an explanation for this:

21 March 2020 teleseminar

“MJD is the humblest human being I’ve ever met, John does not care. He heals people without taking credit… he’s the one that tries to keep me from putting his picture anywhere in the world. Why? Because he’s humble.”

Humble? Seems more like paranoia to me. Nothing demonstrates this more than CMA’s YouTube channel not only removing all videos of him in 2020 but even replacing a 1hr38m workshop from 2015 with an audio-only version.

That’s not humbleness, it’s more akin to trying to remove yourself from the public eye. Doesn’t want to be recognised by someone perhaps?

It was a sad day for MJD devotees when that 2015 workshop video was removed. It would be a shame to deprive the Internet of this golden footage, MJD actually directing the “Master Angels” to conduct a “soul patterning” process in front of a live audience:

2015 seminar clip

MJD seems to be having a problem with his hand here, maybe he should go to a doctor.

MJD’s audio-only preference curiously dovetails with Hartnett’s background in Internet Telephony. No doubt they would argue “visuals distract from the power of the angelic healing” or other nonsense reasoning. So don’t deaf people get a look-in or even subtitles? Maybe deaf people don’t exist in MJD’s world. Maybe he healed them all!

Does MJD operate audio-only so we can’t see him reading from what must be voluminous notes?

Secret Events

Looking again at archived pages circa 2007-2013 on his old Spirit Repair website confirms something doesn’t add up.

All the early reviews are in Illinois, USA and even his return shipping address is “Spirit Repair LLC, #328 1555 Sherman Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201”

No evidence of upcoming or past seminars of any kind in Australia. No pricing for Australian customers.

If he really did and continues to operate from Sydney, travelling to America 3 times a year why is his contact address in USA?

Why are there no comments on CMA social media about events in Australia or indeed anywhere else? Except this one (no answer):

CMA Facebook 4 November 2020

Returning to the present day, masterangels.org About page says it offers “workshops, seminars etc throughout the USA, Canada, Mexico and Australia” but I haven’t seen any evidence whatsoever of MJD doing anything outside USA. It makes no sense.

In 2020 MJD said “We secretly have events all over the country, all over the world” without elaborating.

Why secret?

Why does CMA regularly post on social media and their website and send out newsletters promoting their USA events, but outside USA it’s all apparently “secret” for some unstated reason? Utterly deceptive.

Hartnett has said CMA don’t seek publicity. But wanting secrecy? That’s another level.

As I speculated elsewhere, does MJD choose not to work outside USA for tax or other legal reasons? Does he really live in Australia? What’s the real reason for no photos? Is he a fugitive somewhere? Wanted for tax evasion perhaps?

Dishonorable Titles

Hartnett gave this condescending explanation of why MJD is called “Master”:

Hartnett, 28 March 2020 teleseminar

“I’m sure many people get a little out of joint when they hear the word “Master”. As we mentioned last week, I’m gonna do it again and I’m gonna do it slowly this time so people understand, the word “Master” just means…

Actually we gave John Douglas the name MJD. Having a background of being in business in Europe for many years we experienced many carpenters, artists, sculptors, a master physician … is someone who is the absolute best in their craft.”

Hartnett has said he met him in 2008. So this naming story contradicts MJD’s old 2007 website (see above) where he’s called “Spiritual Healer Master John Douglas”.

Hartnett also says he came up with the title Supreme Grand Master (after someone apparently tried to sell MJD’s material):

Hartnett, 28 March 2020 teleseminar

“I came up with the name Supreme Grand Master John Douglas. We live on a road that has those initials on it … John is the humblest person I know …

The title “Supreme Grand Master” has always felt more like an in-joke to me. As if MJD and friends wanted to see how much they could get away with. Who knows in a few years he could be “Venerable Exalted Most-High Illustrious Supreme Grand Master John Douglas”

I Googled “Supreme Grand Master” to see if there’s a history of Europeans calling themselves it. I didn’t find much besides a Warhammer character; a Discworld character; a number of martial arts teachers; freemasons; and dog racing champions. I do hope SGMJD feels brotherly kinship for all of these.

What was MJD doing before 2006? Sometimes I suspect he and Hartnett knew each other during Hartnett’s Chicago gem trading or commodity broker days, perhaps as business partners.

If anyone can add to the genuine biography of MJD, please do share.
