Last month an extraordinary personal account of the workings of CMA was posted on Reddit. It’s overdue I covered it. It is written by an anonymous ex-CMA member.
I say extraordinary because it’s breathtakingly detailed and captures the reader’s attention as it lays out many aspects and practices of CMA, “Master John Douglas”, Christopher Hartnett and their constructed world of manipulation. The author’s psychological and financial struggles caused by CMA are also described. Thankfully they are now in a comfortable enough place to make public their story.
Some information in the post I cannot verify but is more than plausible based on what I do know. Other parts confirm things I’ve suspected, have written about and other stories I’ve received. Some parts are repeats of CMA lore.
An interesting reply to the post by another user greatly backs it up and is worth including here. I can’t verify everything but again, it matches certain facts I know, not all of which I’ve written about yet:
… When I first had my suspicions about John there was very little on the web about him. Using an alias and multitudes of LLCs makes the trail very fuzzy. Hopefully people who have just been introduced can find this info and see the red flags before they are blind to them.
I have witnessed members being chastised (by John) for getting antibiotics when John’s healing didn’t work. I have seen others quietly seek out western medicine when simple health issues could not be resolved with John’s healing. I have seen people ignore health problems that started out small and became threatening issues because they were reluctant to seek the advice of a doctor for fear it would reflect poorly on their level of faith. People get food poisoning despite using the food disc (even with John at the table!) and sick despite using the cold and flu disc, so the evidence that these tools don’t work are there in plain view. But the pressure to keep up the charade that the healings work is intense. Anyone who challenges too much is ostracized. When the tools and healings don’t work excuses are made which usually falls on that person’s karmic shortcomings.
The elite workshop originated because John wanted to buy a very expensive house in Australia. He needed money fast to make the purchase and so they scrambled to put the elite workshop together, totally suckering those initial attendees into thinking it was some divine course that had been gifted by the angels. I can’t believe they pulled it off and have continued to find people willing to spend $10,000. But when the angels instruct John to travel abroad to exotic destinations and buy million-dollar properties and spend hundreds of thousands of dollars renovating them….well…..that money has to come from somewhere.
To those in CMA’s orbit: ask yourself how well it tallies with your gut feelings. Ponder what you do and don’t know about CMA and MJD and what gaps this new information fills in.
Like any cult, ex-CMA people often feel embarrassed and ashamed for being duped and would rather not talk about it. Years of wasted time, energy and money. It’s no surprise stresses caused by CMA-inflicted spiritual abuse would cause depression and other problems even when CMA are in the rear view mirror; which may also envelope friends and family.
CMA exploit the fallacy of the sunken cost, having persuaded their believers karma will eventually become balanced given enough time and enough use of their spiritual tools and workshops.
CMA is full of people who know under the surface it’s bogus but have invested so much they want to see it through to an end that doesn’t come.
This sunken cost has caused significant debt for some escapees and current CMA members. Meaning the health issues that probably got them seeking MJD’s ‘healing’ are now compounded with financial worries.
For all these reasons CMA must be investigated and torn apart. MJD, Hartnett and their inner circle are responsible for psychological torment of multiple persons for personal financial gain.
Her official bio however is absent of those claims:
Grace Hartnett is a multidisciplinary artist who primarily focuses on film direction and set design, with a concentration on still life environments.
A delicate balance between visual simplicity and carefully crafted chaos, Grace’s work is informed by a fascination with human behavior, organic forms, and non-linear movement within time and space. By balancing surreal sculptural elements with the exploration of the human psyche, she delivers complex, cerebral experiences to the viewer.
She attended the Maharishi School in Fairfield, Iowa and then Maharishi International University graduating 2013. She’s worked as a stylist and interned for the David Lynch Foundation, a transcendental meditation advocacy charity. Therefore like her father she is well-versed in Maharishi and his TM system that MJD/CMA borrows from and exploits.
A key similarity between TM and becoming one of MJD’s ‘Elites’ is learning ‘secret’ knowledge and processes not permitted to be shared to non-paying outsiders. These similarities exist to extract recruits from the existing TM community already accepting of familiar “paths to enlightment” with the added attractive lie of MJD saying he can talk to angels and cure intractable health problems.
Christopher Hartnett has claimed it was Maharishi himself who personally recommended he follow and support MJD during Hartnett’s supposed worldwide search for healers for his longstanding medical problems. This cannot be verified but it forms a kind of spiritual continuity from Maharishi to his successor MJD, common practice in the guru industry to establish credentials.
In those days, circa 2012-2017 Christopher Hartnett liked to push him as a new-improved Maharishi. The below 2017 Fairfield Life group discussion is a valuable public record:
Two years after graduating Grace was enjoying another graduation celebration in the form of traditional CMA fireworks display on Heavenly Mountain, likely for newly graduated Elites such as herself:
To my knowledge Grace is yet to speak publically about being an Elite and what it means to her. Unlike her friend McKayla Maroney she’s never had a secret twitter account to spread her devotion to MJD. In lieu of her own testimony, here are the words of another Elite:
“I met Master John Douglas in 2005 and have been the recipient of many cumulative blessings and miracles. Words can’t express my gratitude and love for MJD and what he, the Master Angels and Elite Development have contributed to my life.
The Elite Development course has accelerated my spiritual path in unbelievable ways. It’s resulted in a continuous chain of miracles and strengthened my divine nature, provided me with a step-change evolution in my overall path.
The ability to audit oneself, your path and to faciliate healing and blessings so you can be the author of your own being.
Elite Development through its sacred knowledge and what Master John teaches has built a huge global loving community of divine beings here on Earth and beyond who are making an impact on themselves and world in general.
Over the years Master John has blessed me with so many miracles I can’t even count. After Elite Development the miracles got quicker, bigger, resolved faster with more grace and with more gratitude.
Since Elite Development, Master John has healed so many things for me. Lyme Disease; saved me from dying from bilateral pneumonia sepsis; cured my genetic immune disorder; resolved potential uterine cancer; repaired my failed adrenal gland. And most recently helped me through an intense period where my entire immediate family of 3 all died in 168 days.
I’m confident Elite Development provided me with new skills to cope, transcend and evolve.
The course for me was very altering. It’s a huge blessing. For me it’s like I’m on a fasttrack to Heaven but I’m experiencing it on this plane.
This community of people who work with Master John … there’s a huge and deep sense of general love and acceptance among these people.”
“The community of people” she’s talking about are her fellow Elites and CMA higher-ups: the army of self-titled mentors; life-trainers; energy healers; wellness coaches; spiritual gurus of all kinds working to funnel recruits with money and loyalty into CMA. The cult of MJD.
Here’s Grace pictured with other Elite students laying hands on the Maha Crystal at the CMA chapel, Heavenly Mountain:
Christopher Hartnett guested on CMA higher-up Bridget Fonger’s Superhero of Love podcast in 2019. He talked about his family being healed by MJD and taking his Elite course:
It’s not that we’re zealots for Master John Douglas we’re just grateful. We all had problems. Bridget you can tell your story, I can tell my story. Not only did he heal me but he healed my two daughters out of my three daughters, he healed my mother, my father, my brother in law, my sister in law … that’s what we’re grateful for. And what happens is once people get healed they say “What can I give back?”
Now that I’m happy, heathy and terrific that’s what Linda and I do, we started these foundations. How can we promote this guy ’cause he won’t promote himself he’s the humblest guy I know, he doesn’t do anything like that, he just heals. Everywhere whether you’re in the airport with him or in an event, everybody around him he’s healing. But he’s such a normal person … what he gets off on is his mission to teach as many people as possible to do what he does. That’s his advanced courses that you’ve taken Bridget, I’ve taken, my wife has taken, two of my daughters have taken, very very powerful.
But more importantly, we love him but it’s not about John, he’d be the first to tell you it’s about your relationship with God.
It’s filled with lies.
Incidentally, the absurd image of MJD “healing everyone around him in airports” was clearly intended to mimic a habit of Jesus Christ: “the crowds learned about it and followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing.” (Luke 9:11)
But Christopher Hartnett goes much further in the 28th March 2020 teleseminar regarding his favorite daughter Grace. He specifically and proudly claims she can cure illnesses thanks to what MJD has taught her. He gives an example of a kidney problem he supposedly had. We’re expected to believe she resolved his chronic pain because she has learned MJD’s superpowers like other Elites:
I’ll never call myself a master healer because I’ve been in the grace and company of a master healer and I could never do what John does.
Yet my youngest daughter [Grace] came into my room last night and she realised I had a certain pain and she’s been taught by John and she’s very good at what she does and she relieved a kidney pain that many people on the phone know I’ve had on and off for many years. And she did that through the help and the grace of other healing facilitaors who are on the phone that have helped her at her young age to kill a virus and kill bacteria.
50,000 people John has healed in person. I’ve watched 25,000. 100,000s have been healed through our teleseminars over the last 12 years.
I asked John “Summarize for me what you do” and he thought about it. My daughter said “Dad you’re always saying you’re a businessman, what do you have to say in business?”
I do business and I only do things that work. The fact it does work I can’t emphatically scream any louder than I’m doing.
And John said “To sum up everything I do, I am a man that can kill a virus.”
This is 10 years ago. Now I know not only he can kill a virus but I’ve seen him teach other people that can kill a virus.
Notice the similarites to Jill’s experience of healing and referencing the community of other Elite “healing facilitaors”.
But the truth of course is neither MJD nor his Elites can kill viruses. I’m now informed some Elite graduates and CMA higher-ups actually acquired COVID-19 and were powerless to do anything except wait for their immune system to fight it. All of MJD’s tools were ineffective (no surprise there.) As I speculated, COVID-19 really has laid bare the false claims CMA were once so eager to advertise:
Now returning to Grace, I was unsure until this year if she really is a MJD true believer. The fact her father says she is an Elite and can kill viruses does not mean she would claim the same. Does she truly believe MJD and Elites like herself command healing and remote scanning powers? Does she believe in “karmic mitigation” to cure conditions caused by long-standing trauma? Possession of divine knowledge including “proof of God”? Angelic communication abilities? Just like McKayla and other higher-ups she doesn’t shout about it to the masses.
Here she posted CMA’s nightly Global Repair twitch stream without specifying what it is:
I don’t know how or when Grace was introduced to MJD but it was no later than 2012. That’s 9+ years of involvement with him. What are the effects of long-term exposure to mind-numbing, deceptive, ingratiating, pretentious nonsense from a man enabled by someone she naturally looks up to, her own father?
Within Grace’s The Enigma of a Dream there is something subtly confirming she does currently & publically endorse MJD.
However, if Grace wishes to clarify her father’s claims of her Elite powers are bogus, and why he would lie about her, I’ll be happy to receive such a statement from her and post it.
The Enigma of a Dream
The Enigma of a Dream (3:35) can be watched on Nowness and YouTube. Leave your own reviews in the comments on those sites or below, if you like.
I’ll start at the end, the reason for my interest. The closing shot:
Well well… who’s that mentioned at the end? None other than a certain “John Douglas”. Quite an eyebrow-raising moment for me. Below I’ll delve into the significance of the credit, give my interpretation of the film, and explore its connections to the teachings and tools of MJD.
The credit is a small but notable moment for plain “John Douglas”, here absent of his pretend ‘Master’ title, befitting his current reduced status by avoiding the now unfavored “Master John Douglas” name. I couldn’t let this somewhat obscure reference pass without putting attention on it.
It’s only in the closing credits the name crops up: an enigma indeed to the casual viewer. Unlike Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and Carl Jung, he is neither quoted in the film or mentioned in the description:
Director Grace Hartnett invites you to peel back the layers of your mind and delve into your subconscious in a film that explores the mystery of dreaming. The Enigma of a Dream is a conceptual short film based on the journey of the mind slipping between states of awareness and tapping into the unknown depths of the human psyche.
The Enigma of a Dream is structured around lecture recordings from Indian spiritual guide Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Carl Jung.
The decision to credit MJD so modestly is ironic because it was Grace’s father who gave him the title “Supreme Grand Master”. It would have raised too many questions among the film’s crew and viewers; one easy Google search later by a curious mind will see the troublesome world of CMA laid out. His name appearing only within the film itself means it won’t be discoverable in any searches.
Some of Grace’s friends are also Elite graduates and worked on the film. Did the non-CMA crew wonder about the innocuous-sounding namecheck or receive an explanation?
If MJD has actually renounced all his made-up titles he should do so publically to make it official. Not least for the benefit of the 1000s of his newsletter subscribers who must think he’s abandoned them (truly a blessing in disguise.) Though even “John Douglas” is an assumed name.
Inspired in faithand gratitude. Yes, Grace both believes in MJD and thanks him for what he’s imparted to her. But this man whom her dad says heals thousands “everywhere he goes” is not apparently worth shouting about. Her appearance in the Gratitude video was silent but now we know it was not out of place. She is a believer and follower of MJD and her work is influenced by him.
Of the film itself, I felt the execution didn’t match the concept. The concept being that dreams make us aware there is more to human existence than our conscious thinking brains constrained by the perceived world around us; dreams reveal the subconscious depths of our mind, and hence our soul. This allows us to access higher states of cosmic awareness and unite with the universe.
Grace writes “The dream state is used as a guide to illuminate the unknown and undiscovered aspects of our mind” but there’s little sign of it in The Enigma of a Dream. A disjointed series of soulless setpieces and fleeting glimpses of random imagery does not make a guide. The purpose apparently to present a subconscious dreamscape but who has dreams resembling this? These dreams seem more influenced by psychedelics. Such recreational drugs would be against CMA’s Elite course requirements so I must be mistaken.
Carl Jung viewed dreams as messages sent via symbols from the subconscious. He also believed people are on a transformational spiritual journey to fulfill their potential and become closer to the divine oneness; which MJD also preaches. A Maharishi quote of the same idea is heard in the film.
Maharishi said there were 7 levels of consciousness on the path of spiritual development from ‘waking’, ‘dreaming’ up to ‘unity’ and TM allows access to the higher levels. Continued meditation expands the waking mind to become more attuned to the state of ‘oneness’ – neither awake, asleep or dreaming. This brings understanding of one’s place in the universe and benefits the practitioner’s everyday life. Similiar to MJD saying his spiritual tools raise the level of your cosmic awareness to “just be” – a “non-reactive being that is literally walking at one with the vibration of creation around us.”
“Our group and my Elites have seen proof of God… it’s no longer a notion. They know.
MJD, 30th October 2020 teleseminar
In this way the film includes Jung as a forerunner of both Maharishi and MJD.
I’m not aware of MJD ever talking about dreams but he certainly has a lot to say about the subconscious and how it can be altered by his Subconscious Repair CD ($149.99) and hence improve your life:
MJD speaking about it:
Subconscious Repair is the tool that will change your life. Whether you like it or not or believe it or not. Many many many people who are closed off to any spiritual truth … have had major major transformations by using the Subconscious Repair process.
The subconscious contains the belief systems that will elevate you and help you succeed, and the belief systems that will destroy you and make you fail.
The subconscious contains things you don’t even know about and they are affecting you moment to moment. And the Subconscious Repair CD is very very important.
This is unadulterated gunk. The CD is not “very very important” and won’t change your life. He implies listening to the CD will remove the ‘bad’ parts of your subconscious and hence your dreams will be purer and you’ll be generally closer to God. All complete fabrication to sell a $149.99 CD.
Unfortunately, MJD’s followers are strung along by his promises to repair the subconscious:
I’ve accumulated 13 of the CD/MP3 processes since last summer and do about 2 ¼ hours in the morning and 2 ¼ hours in the afternoon. Can’t say that’s all that pleasant, mostly more like work, but feels “right” somehow.
What really started me on this was listening to a recorded excerpt of an event last summer. Went to bed soon after and had epic, Jungian type dream that said this was the turning point and start of new major phase of my life.
I have applied for the Elite training in August so we’ll see where that goes.
MJD devotee, 2020
Note this devotee even mentions he experienced a “Jungian type dream”, so we come full circle back to Grace’s 2021 film. Did this dream resemble The Engima of a Dream?
Maharishi is a difficult voice to listen to, necessitating subtitles. The narration got in the way of Alexis Georgopoulos AKA Arp’s ambient music, a suitably unearthly and spooky soundscape for sure. The editing was competent and matched the tempo of the narration. The photography was good but doesn’t have much to work with.
The Enigma of a Dream is too short to be enlightening; too vague to be insightful; and draws on too many unreliable sources to be convincing. Including more people and fewer inanimate objects would’ve made more sense.
It’s two thumbs down from me.
I would like to see Grace take up the documentary genre for her next project. A film about her father, MJD and the end days of CMA. I feel it would be a fascinating insight into the world of CMA and a compelling character study appealing to a wide audience.
Lots of activity by CMA chairman and founder Christopher Hartnett on Reddit in the week following publication of The Daily Beast (DB) article on February 24.
He continues to show traits of an angry narcissist of some kind, as I mentioned here. Confrontational screeds with disparaging attacks is his style. He left 20 comments between February 27 and March 1. His ‘GunPorn‘ photo was deleted around same period.
In the wake of the DB article and other developments it’s not only these new comments that reveal his state of mind: edits he’s made to older comments are especially interesting and worth recording here. I am sure Hartnett did not consider it’s possible his edits can be compared to the originals, as I will do below. I’m also including new audio clips from Hartnett’s 2019 internal CMA conference call which are relevant and important.
Hartnett did not like the DB article one bit and appears to be under impression it was sourced from Reddit and hence spends a lot of energy attacking the platform, its users and the journalist. Cult writer and undue influence expert Steven Hassan quoted in that article also gets admonished repeatedly.
There’s too much to include everything here. Some selections:
Hartnett’s crude lack of consideration and absence of empathy is all over the above Reddit comment: DB, Cheyenne Roundtree and Reddit are ‘raping McKayla again’ he says.
I don’t know where the $125 pricetag for pendants is from. The cheapest CMA currently sell is a small silver one for $149.99 which McKayla visibly doesn’t have. On the contrary she has at least two large pendants in gold and silver as I covered.
The people perpetuating nonsense are Hartnett and MJD by selling this moronic church which is a cult to McKayla and others.
Forums like Reddit aren’t cults: for one thing, opposing views are allowed and discussed as Hartnett is taking part in himself. Unlike in CMA where no signs of discontent or contrary views are entertained or published, and dissent and questions will get you excluded and silenced.
I’m posting here a new clip from the 2019 internal CMA conference call demonstrating Hartnett’s attitude to doubters and waverers:
There’s not a person on this call … who I know doesn’t love John more than practically anything else in creation. And we’re gonna start from there.
But if you really love him and you really want to see this be a multi-billion dollar enterprise, which it’s going to be regardless, and since we can’t fallow you, what we can do is put you out to pasture and not love you in the sense that you’re not part of the business, you’re not part of helping the world. But you will feel horrible because the moment you realize what is actually happening you will do anything in your power to make this happen because there’s nothing greater for anybody to do in the universe than what we’re doing right now.
There’s so many beings watching what’s happening now they wish they were in human bodies so they could help us. They wish they were here. And we’ve been given that, we’ve been given those human rights to be here, for whatever reason.
Lest anyone in CMA forget the greatest way to spend your life is helping MJD’s mission: they should be grateful they’re alive on Earth where they can effect the change MJD wants. Hartnett tells dissenters dead people are envious of their life. So fall in line, get back to the job and you won’t need to torment yourself at what you lost in CMA.
“Your dark shadow” in the previous Reddit quote brought to mind a YouTube comment I’ve had in back of my mind since I first saw it (video since deleted) which is overdue being shared on the blog:
Back to Reddit:
51,000 is an interesting number. Interesting because it shows how far CMA are from the 300,000 ‘souls’ Hartnett boasted he wanted to save two years ago. Another clip from his 2019 conference call with CMA higher-ups, which also gives a sense of the tone of voice his Reddit comments must have been written in:
“But why would anybody get in the way of anything good? You have to ask yourself this. Why is you so important? Why am I so important that we can stop John’s mission, how would you feel if you died and you were the one that was stopping people from their evolution? And because we get into our own heads, our own self-pity, our own problems that we then start to project that and muddy up the waters.
We want a clear, crystal diamond path to salvation for every one of the 300,000 souls we’re trying to do. And many of us are here on Earth only for that, and that’s all we’re gonna do. And we’re gonna do it with or without the people huffing. If you don’t help and you don’t like people being selfless when they’re working and you have to impose yourself on people then we’ll sit you down on the bench and we’ll be nice to you, we’ll say Hi to you, come to the events, you can get blessed and play your CDs by yourself and so be it.
And the moment you die you say “Oh my god, I was one of the 60 people on Earth out of 7.5 billion that had a chance for the most direct path on Earth to save humanity and I blew it!”
And you don’t want to feel that way believe me. And many of you have already felt that in many other lifetimes, you don’t want to feel like you blew it.
This is the lifetime that we’re gonna shine, this is the lifetime we’re gonna be our best self. John has given us blessing after blessing after blessing, many of us are such barbarians we don’t deserve this but he’s given to us none the less.
Hartnett, 28 October 2019
There’s a lot to digest there. I intend to write a dedicated post with full context what he’s talking about. But why 300,000 souls? I am clueless.
Back to Reddit, and Hartnett feverishly insists all healing is performed by God, Jesus, anyone besides MJD :
This insistence by Hartnett is mirrored in a new large disclaimer added to beginning of CMA’s About page:
Both are desperate to say MJD doesn’t do healing. But CMA and MJD have obviously said otherwise many times: the audio and other blatant evidence are all over my blog.
“No individual or human being does healing for CMA” – this point we can agree on. MJD and his Elites’ inability to heal has never been in doubt outside CMA. But this poor attempt at a strong legal text doesn’t address the problem: MJD professes he can heal and he sells himself on those lies. He professes he talks to angels and knows of undiscovered microscopic parasites. He pretends to be called Master John Douglas. And CMA promote him, his ‘abilities’ and his ‘healing’ tools and seminars as ways to be healed.
“We don’t want anyone to think any human person is doing the healing. All healing comes from God. We want to be clear about that without question.” – again this couldn’t be more false. Hartnett misses the point as he often does when defending MJD. No healing is taking place but is promoted through fake science, bogus testimonials, and brainwashing seminars. There are 100s of testimonials thanking MJD for healing which CMA spread through specific hashtags on social media, and encourage followers to thank and praise MJD for what he’s done for them. And again there is all the audio and promotional material I’ve posted.
But in fact we need go no further than the same About page to see Hartnett and the new disclaimer are contradicting themselves. A few sections down is:
Even if that highlighted line gets removed from the About page it will not remove the countless other times CMA and MJD have said he can heal. MJD appears to be a kind of Schrödinger’s Healer: a master healer while at same time doing no healing. A similiar paradox as CMA not being able to decide if MJD’s powers are based on science or faith.
“Healers” is an endemic belief among CMA followers, as I’ve shown many times. Here we see an Elite, ‘L’, completely forgetting CMA’s disclaimers about seeking professional medical care first:
None of the other Elites in that comment thread ‘corrected’ L or reminded her MJD and his SFR tool are officially secondary options, not first port of call.
But CMA know ‘healer’ is a word fraught with legal issues. One example of CMA covering their backs is this change in description of so-called ‘F’ events, removing the title “Elite Healer”:
Back to Hartnett’s recent Reddit comments:
“Totally transparent” is false. As I’ve explained here and elsewhere there are no transparent donations made. CMA and SELF Foundation money is moved around a network of obscure companies, of which I shall be posting more about in the future.
“You are weak secret hiding sauce” – one of Hartnett’s tamer insults. “Weak”, “snowflake”, “hater”, “virtue signaling” just some of the words Hartnett uses trying to defend CMA. Maybe he should have given the job instead to CMA’s “legal expert” Jeffrey Wagner – “one of the top legal minds of the world” supposedly.
Hartnett doesn’t disagree he talks like a gangster:
Like a gangster on the lam, Hartnett may be having a meltdown seeing his machinations and co-conspirators falling apart. Gangsters need their day in court and jailtime.
Editor in Chief
Now a look at the edits I mentioned Hartnett has made to his old comments.
The edits show attemps to rewrite history: in an effort to decrease his apparent responsibilty and authority in CMA.
“I am the Chairman of the Foundation” becomes “I am a member of the Foundation“:
The 27 Nov 2020 comment above is the first comment by ‘tedhens’, boldy announcing himself as Chairman. Which tells us he is Hartnett (alongside additional evidence I’m leaving for a dedicated post.)
In the 24 Dec 2020 comment above he writes he’s “senior pastor”. I don’t remember ever hearing him called that before. Certainly a step down from Chairman. But still a typically overblown title from Hartnett.
On 28 Feb 2021, we seem to have a massive fall in Hartnett’s position in CMA. So great he feels the need to go back and edit his first comment to say he’s merely a “member”!
Hartnett’s choice of CMA identity on Reddit descends from Chairman to Senior Pastor to member, decreasing anyone’s ability to identify him personally (or so he thinks.)
This sequence of comments and edits show Hartnett wants to cover-up his identity and role. But it’s too late: it’s on record and the edit and man behind the account is known. And in truth his role hasn’t changed.
The Dec 24 comment above was also subjected to later editing on Feb 28, more damning than Edit #1.
“I have the Church, not him. I am the senior pastor so if you have a beef, it should be with me and not him. He doesn’t touch the money, I do” becomes “He is the guest Pastor. So if you have a beef, it should be with our Church Council and not him. He doesn’t touch the money, we do.” :
Red edit: Hartnett is trying to remove his admission of responsibilty for CMA’s money, passing it off to an imaginary “Church Council”. This “Church Council” may as well be Hartnett’s equivalent of MJD’s “master angels” – conjured-up entities to take credit for actual people’s actions. And what of his wife Linda Hartnett and Greta Huizenga, listed as treasurers of CMA and SELF?
In the blue edit, Hartnett removes the idea he’s the “senior pastor” and in its place he says MJD is “guest pastor”. This is Hartnett again insisting MJD is independent of CMA with no role besides a “guest” of the organization. “This organization is not Master John Douglas’s organization” he wrote on 27 Nov 2020. But it’s all lies. A setup to ultimately hide that CMA’s multi-million dollar revenue is funneled to MJD’s real-life self, contrary to strict regulations for 501(c)(3) charitable organizations.
The lie is proved in these next two damning clips from 2019’s internal conference call where Hartnett is speaking only to key CMA people. He makes it crystal clear MJD is the real power at top of the organization’s hierarchy. I was quite shocked how blatantly he was speaking of it, but remember he is not speaking to the public here. His audience was around 60 CMA Elites and other higher-ups. Please credit and link DFHM if you share:
And when you say “I’m gonna go see John” or “I’m gonna go do this or that” you were talking to us. You’re not going anywhere around anybody. Nobody including me has credentials that were gonna supersede the organization that’s here and go directly to John. John is in charge. What he wants is there.
This is all divine, this is all being run by divinity. And you have the ability to scan at any given moment to see the truth of every single word I’m saying. Because this is not coming from us, we’re not making this up.
And we want you all to be there at the finish line. You can feel it, we’re ready to explode.
We can be manipulated and we can be manipulative. We’ve done this for centuries. There were kingdoms, we had high priestesses, all types of people that were out there running all different civilizations. And now they come in and don’t understand why people don’t jump when they say something.
We have so many kings and queens in this group that we could either kill each other, bump into each other or we can fall in love and fall in line.
That line and love of path is like a triangle. If you could picture it in your head, and indulge me for a second. At the very top is John. He has a thought; his thought should filter through the entire organization and get all the way to the bottom where the masses are without any obstruction.
Conclusively, in this audio we hear Hartnett declare MJD is in charge and must be obeyed. Destroying the public claim MJD “doesn’t have a Church”; is merely a “guest” or “frequent speaker”; that those organizations are separate from him. In fact, the whole organization, from its roots built on lies to every shady branch to every leaf of its adoring membership is for MJD’s benefit, glorification and control. What’s more, this is a one-way relationship.
Hartnett likens the key people on the call to kings and queens, with MJD as God. And talks about divinity. I think he’s trying to say if the “kings and queens” of CMA faithfully followed MJD’s “divine” wishes better and put their trust in him, then the “masses” would obey their commands.
In this way, the “divine right” originates as a metaphysical act of humility or submission towards God. The divine right has been a key element for legitimizing many absolute monarchies.
Consequentially, it asserts that a monarch is not accountable to an earthly authority (such as a parliament) because their right to rule is derived from divine authority. The monarch is thus not subject to the will of his people, of the aristocracy, or of any other estate of the realm.
… which mirrors exactly Hartnett’s and MJD’s belief they aren’t – and won’t be – accountable for anything. I have no doubt both men would refuse to recognize the legitimacy of any earthly court or process against them. Like many wrongdoers declaring “only God can judge me”.
“If you have beef, it should be with me” becomes “If you have beef, it should be with our Church Council“. Again Hartnett tries to show a decrease of his influence and status in CMA, thereby decreasing his future legal accountability, he probably thinks. But the edits are here to see.
Earlier he went from Chairman to senior pastor to merely a ‘member’. No surprise he denies he’s personally or soley responsible for anything. In his mind he’s innocent of any wrong doing, financial or otherwise. But if he won’t accept accountability, who is left to pass it on to?
Not MJD. Though Hartnett curiously doesn’t name him in his newest batch of comments he’s still defending him on his behalf by diminishing his role, declaring he too is not accountable, which is laughable. A character trait MJD and Hartnett share that I’ve discussed before. He’s not pushing blame onto MJD but he would if he had a backbone. So who does Hartnett expect to take the hit for him when justice comes knocking?
A third edit gives us the answer.
This is a small but crucial change Hartnett made to his long 27 Nov 2020 comment.
“100% of our volunteer staff have been healed in one way or another” becomes “100% of our volunteer staff have been healed by Godin one way or another“:
Clearly Hartnett realized the original version leaves open the credit who did the healing to an unacceptable degree and didn’t sufficiently absolve MJD, so he alters it to put responsibility exclusively onto actual God like in CMA’s legal disclaimers. Like a beneficial “an act of God” for which no human can be held responsible.
Hartnett is an arrogant man who thinks his view of the universe is unquestionably the right one. Disagreements are attacks on his ‘pure’ and ‘good’ vision of the world and the souls inhabiting it and trying to elevate it. He will never see the flaws in his approach or understand other people have problems with it.
If you don’t believe in God the differences are unresolvable: he’ll end the discussion, as if he refuses to entertain the thought God doesn’t exist. That would crumble his whole grand idea, learned from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and appropriated by MJD via transcendental meditation. Eternal human souls living and reincarnating between worlds, elevating to perfect unquestioning “oneness” with the creator. Insanely, he believes MJD is the way to achieve it in this lifetime.
With no God to submit to, there would be no-one left for Hartnett to blame except himself.
His comments and edits I’ve described here come across as an angry, rushed reaction to the damaging ‘cult’ label. He’s like a hitherto all-powerful dictator who sees the tide finally starting to turn against him.
Or is it simple frustration seeing external criticism is starting to outrank CMA’s own material in search results?
